The TM6 added built-in wifi and Cookidoo guided cooking on top of the TM5's touchscreen, plus a steam sensor for more consistent results. It was the flagship model until the TM7 launched in 2025, and it's the most common machine on the secondhand market right now.

TM6 prices hold up well secondhand because it's still a fully current machine for guided cooking — a clean, complete set with the original box tends to sit near the top of this range.

What to check on a used TM6
Get the Cookidoo account deactivated before you pay
Ask the seller to remove the machine from their "My Appliances" list and factory reset it. Skip this and you may not be able to register guided cooking under your own account.
Confirm it's a genuine TM6 bowl and knife, not a TM5's
TM5 and TM6 bowls can physically fit into either base, but using the wrong one triggers a system error and the machine won't cook. Check the model stamp on the underside of the bowl.
Test the wifi connection and a guided recipe
Connect it to a network and run through at least one Cookidoo step in person — a machine that pairs but drops mid-recipe is a common, hard-to-spot-from-photos fault.
Run the blade-seal leak test
Fill the bowl with water, leave it standing on paper towel for an hour, and check for dampness underneath — this catches the single most common wear issue.
Listen for the motor under load
A grinding or straining sound at higher speeds usually means the blade drive is wearing out — normal machines are quiet enough to hold a conversation over.

Why is a used TM6 still fairly expensive?
It's still a fully capable, current-feeling machine with guided cooking built in — there's no accessory tax like the TM5's Cook-Key, and demand from buyers who don't want to pay TM7 prices keeps it firm.
Do I need to register it again if I buy one secondhand?
Yes. The previous owner needs to deactivate it from their Cookidoo account first, then you register it fresh under yours.
Will my TM6 accessories work on a TM7?
The mixing knife and butterfly whisk carry over. The bowl and Varoma are less certain due to the TM7's redesigned base — check before assuming.
