Terms of Service

Second Stir (“Second Stir,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates www.secondstir.com, a marketplace that helps people sell used Thermomix machines and connects buyers with condition-graded, secondhand listings. Second Stir is based in Ireland.

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use Second Stir. If you use the site on behalf of a business — for example, submitting a bulk quote request — you confirm you have the authority to bind that business to these Terms.

Second Stir is a marketplace where people in Ireland sell and buy used Thermomix machines and accessories. Sellers list items with a condition grade and description; buyers pay through Second Stir; we hold the payment while the item is shipped by tracked courier, and release it to the seller once delivery is confirmed.

You can also request a free valuation, sign up for alerts when a matching machine is listed, or request a bulk quote. Submitting one of these forms sends your details to our team so we can follow up by email — it is not itself a binding offer to buy or sell.

Payment holding, prepaid courier labels, and the buyer protections in section 6 apply only to sales paid for through Second Stir. We can't protect payments or deliveries arranged directly between a buyer and seller outside the site.

When you submit a form on Second Stir, you agree that the information you provide is:

• accurate and not misleading — including the machine's model, condition, and included accessories;
• yours to give, or given with the authorization of the business you represent; and
• not submitted to impersonate another person or business, or to spam, scrape, or abuse the service.

We use automated bot-detection (Vercel BotID) and a hidden anti-spam field on our forms. Attempting to circumvent these protections, or submitting forms programmatically outside of normal use, is a breach of these Terms.

When you list or offer a machine for sale through Second Stir, you confirm that:

• you legally own the item and have the right to sell it;
• the item is not stolen, counterfeit, recalled, or subject to any dispute; and
• your description of its condition, included accessories, and any defects is honest and complete.

Listing is free. When an item sells, we charge a seller fee of 10% of the sale price (minimum €25), deducted from the sale price before the balance is paid to you. The fee includes the prepaid courier collection and payment holding. No fee is charged if the item doesn't sell, and we'll give you notice before any change to the fee applies to your listings.

We may decline, remove, or suspend a listing at our discretion — for example, if it appears fraudulent, misdescribed, or in breach of these Terms.

Buyers are responsible for reviewing a listing's description, photos, and condition grade before purchasing.

When you buy through Second Stir, your payment is held until you confirm the item arrived as described. If you don't confirm or raise a problem within a few days of tracked delivery, the sale is treated as complete and the payment is released to the seller.

If the item doesn't match its listing — for example, an undisclosed fault or missing accessories — contact us before confirming delivery. We'll review the listing, your photos, and the seller's response, and where the item was misdescribed we'll arrange a return and refund. These protections are in addition to any rights you have under consumer law.

You agree not to:

• use the site for any unlawful purpose, or to list stolen or counterfeit goods;
• attempt to bypass our bot-protection, rate limits, or security measures;
• scrape, harvest, or resell data from the site without our written permission;
• interfere with the site's operation or other users' use of it; or
• impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with one.

Second Stir is an independent marketplace and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Vorwerk. Thermomix® and Varoma® are registered trademarks of Vorwerk, used on this site only to describe the machines bought and sold here.

We rely on third-party providers to run Second Stir, including Vercel (hosting and bot protection), Supabase (database), and Statsig (product analytics). Their handling of your data is described in our Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for the availability or content of any third-party site we link to.

Second Stir facilitates connections between buyers and sellers of used goods; we do not manufacture, inspect, or warrant the machines listed. Except as expressly stated, the site and any listings on it are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Second Stir will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or a transaction between a buyer and seller. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the preceding 12 months.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, without regard to its conflict of law principles. The courts of Ireland have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of Second Stir.

We may update these Terms as the service evolves; we'll change the “last updated” date above when we do, and material changes will be called out on this page. We may suspend or terminate access for anyone who breaches these Terms.
