Terms of Service

Second Stir (“Second Stir,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates www.secondstir.com, a marketplace that helps people sell used Thermomix machines and connects buyers with condition-graded, secondhand listings. Second Stir is based in Ireland.

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use Second Stir. If you use the site on behalf of a business — for example, submitting a bulk quote request — you confirm you have the authority to bind that business to these Terms.

Second Stir currently offers three ways to engage with us: requesting a free valuation for a machine you want to sell, signing up to be notified when a matching machine is listed, and requesting a bulk quote for multiple machines. Submitting one of these forms sends your details to our team so we can follow up by email — it is not itself a binding offer to buy or sell.

As the marketplace grows to include self-service listings and purchases, sellers will be responsible for the accuracy of their listings and buyers will be responsible for reviewing a listing before paying. Any escrow-style payment holding, prepaid courier labels, or buyer-protection terms we advertise apply only to transactions actually processed through Second Stir's checkout, once that feature is live, and will be detailed in the listing flow itself.

When you submit a form on Second Stir, you agree that the information you provide is:

• accurate and not misleading — including the machine's model, condition, and included accessories;
• yours to give, or given with the authorization of the business you represent; and
• not submitted to impersonate another person or business, or to spam, scrape, or abuse the service.

We use automated bot-detection (Vercel BotID) and a hidden anti-spam field on our forms. Attempting to circumvent these protections, or submitting forms programmatically outside of normal use, is a breach of these Terms.

When you list or offer a machine for sale through Second Stir, you confirm that:

• you legally own the item and have the right to sell it;
• the item is not stolen, counterfeit, recalled, or subject to any dispute; and
• your description of its condition, included accessories, and any defects is honest and complete.

Listing is free unless we tell you otherwise in writing. We may decline, remove, or suspend a listing at our discretion — for example, if it appears fraudulent, misdescribed, or in breach of these Terms.

Buyers are responsible for reviewing a listing's description, photos, and condition grade before purchasing. Once a payment and shipping flow is live, its specific terms — including inspection windows and how disputes over item condition are handled — will be presented to you before you pay.

You agree not to:

• use the site for any unlawful purpose, or to list stolen or counterfeit goods;
• attempt to bypass our bot-protection, rate limits, or security measures;
• scrape, harvest, or resell data from the site without our written permission;
• interfere with the site's operation or other users' use of it; or
• impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with one.

Second Stir is an independent marketplace and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Vorwerk. Thermomix® and Varoma® are registered trademarks of Vorwerk, used on this site only to describe the machines bought and sold here.

We rely on third-party providers to run Second Stir, including Vercel (hosting and bot protection), Supabase (database), and Statsig (product analytics). Their handling of your data is described in our Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for the availability or content of any third-party site we link to.

Second Stir facilitates connections between buyers and sellers of used goods; we do not manufacture, inspect, or warrant the machines listed. Except as expressly stated, the site and any listings on it are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Second Stir will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or a transaction between a buyer and seller. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the preceding 12 months.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, without regard to its conflict of law principles. The courts of Ireland have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of Second Stir.

We may update these Terms as the service evolves; we'll change the “last updated” date above when we do, and material changes will be called out on this page. We may suspend or terminate access for anyone who breaches these Terms.
