A Thermomix marketplace, built in Dundalk for people who take cooking seriously.
Second Stir is a new, independent Irish company based in Dundalk, Co. Louth. We're building one place to buy and sell used Thermomix machines and accessories — for the professional kitchens and enthusiast home cooks who rely on them.
Why we started Second Stir
A Thermomix is one of the most expensive appliances in any kitchen, and one of the longest-lasting. That means there are a lot of perfectly good machines out there that aren't being used — replaced by a newer model, left behind after a move, or bought for a kitchen that turned out not to need one.
Until now, selling one meant a general classifieds ad: explaining what a Varoma is to people who've never heard of one, fielding lowball offers, and taking payment on trust. Buying one meant guessing whether the bowl matched the base, whether the blade seal was on its way out, and whether the seller had signed it out of Cookidoo.
We think a machine this good deserves better than that. Second Stir does one thing — used Thermomix — so buyers and sellers are talking to people who already know the machine.

How it works
What we promise buyers and sellers
Every listing is condition-graded
Like new, good, well used, or needs repair — with photos and an honest note of anything missing or not working.
Payment is held until delivery
The buyer's money sits with us until they confirm the machine arrived as described. Nobody has to pay, or ship, on trust.
Every sale ships tracked
A tracked courier label comes with every sale, so both sides always know where the machine is.
A real team if something goes wrong
If a machine doesn't match its listing, we step in and help sort out a return or refund.
Listing is free. When a machine sells, our fee of 10% of the sale price (minimum €25) comes out of the sale price, with courier collection included. That's how Second Stir makes money, and it means we only earn when a sale actually goes through.

How we write our guides
Our model guides, selling guide and buyer's checklist are written to be useful whether or not you ever use Second Stir.
- Resale prices come from real Irish secondhand listings, mainly on Adverts.ie, set a little below asking prices to allow for haggling. Every model guide shows the date its prices were last reviewed.
- Where we're not certain — a warranty question, or an accessory we haven't confirmed — we say so, rather than guessing.
- We're independent. Second Stir is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Vorwerk, and nobody pays us to recommend a model.
- Spotted something wrong or out of date? Tell us and we'll correct it.
